Fire-rated and Water-Resistant melamine panels are specialized building material designed to offer both fire protection and resistance to moisture. These panels fall under two categories:
HPL (High Pressure Laminate)
CDF (Compact Density Fiberboard)
HPL and CDF are typically manufactured by applying particular material primarily resin to the coating and to the panel cores hence providing fire-resistance while incorporating additives/treatment to render them water-resistant.
These panels are commonly used in areas where both fire safety and resistance to moisture and water are crucial such as interior (walling, ceiling, and flooring) and exterior (mainly cladding) decoration, kitchens, bathrooms, laboratories, or other high-humidity environments. They can also be incorporated with other items such as gates and doors. They provide the benefits of fire protection along with the ability to withstand exposure to water without warping, swelling, or deteriorating, making them suitable for a wide range of applications in both residential and commercial construction
